[Hiring] Accounting Supervisor @Wonolo

Role Description

We are looking for an Accounting Supervisor to work with Wonolo’s Finance team in day-to-day functions. You will be employed by a third-party legal entity authorized to do business in the location in which you reside and you will provide contractual services to Wonolo’s Finance team. You will collaborate cross-functionally with different teams throughout the organization, provide critical accounting support, and work to enhance operational efficiency. You will be a big contributor in delivering a world-class financial operations experience.

What you'll do:

• Own day-to-day accounting operations across US and Canada entities, including payroll, A/P, A/R, prepaids, and general ledger activities.
• Lead the month-end and year-end close process, ensuring timely, accurate financial reporting and reconciliations.
• Manage general ledger consolidation and partner with FP&A on variance analysis, management reporting, and GAAP reporting.
• Oversee accounting and payroll workflows to ensure accuracy, completeness, and on-time delivery of key deliverables.
• Evaluate and strengthen accounting and payroll processes, controls, and systems to improve efficiency and scalability.
• Prepare and document accounting standard operating procedures (SOPs) and internal memos in accordance with GAAP.
• Partner cross-functionally with department leads to support financial decision-making, address process gaps, and drive operational improvements.
• Collaborate with external auditors and third-party partners to support audits and ensure compliance.
• Support company-wide initiatives and projects with financial impact, providing guidance and insight as needed.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of accounting experience, including general ledger and close processes.
• Strong attention to detail with an analytical, problem-solving mindset.
• Experience with ERP systems and third-party tools; NetSuite experience is a plus.
• Advanced Excel skills (e.g., XLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, arrays).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams.
• Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment and manage shifting priorities.
• Demonstrated ownership and accountability in delivering accurate, timely results.
• Continuous improvement mindset with a focus on building scalable processes.

Requirements

• CPA preferred.
• Big 4 experience is a plus.
• Experience with tools such as Bill.com, Ramp, or similar platforms.
• SQL or data querying experience is a plus.
