[Hiring] Accountant I @Centene Corporation

Role Description

The main focus of the role is to support the cash related accounting processes for Medicaid Health Plans along with maintaining accurate financial records, prepare monthly financial statements and participate in special projects.

In this Accountant I role, you will:

• Account for cash through cash deposits, cash applications, collection and cash forecasting
• Process payment and void requests
• Respond to inquiries about payments
• Assist with preparing financial reports and supporting month-end close processes
• Evaluate variances, account balances, etc.
• Analyze financial information detailing assets, liabilities, and capital
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Comply with all policies and standards

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, related field or equivalent experience
• 0-2 years' experience in accounting, preferably in health care industry
• Intermediate/Advanced Excel skills: Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, XLOOKUP

Requirements

• Flexibility to work remotely from home anywhere within the continental United States
• St. Louis, MO is highly preferred
