Role Description

The Vice President of Finance & Accounting at Built is responsible for driving financial integrity and commercial thinking, strategic financial planning, and data-driven decision making across the organization. Reporting to the CFO, this leader will oversee financial planning & analysis (FP&A), accounting, treasury, procurement, and payroll.

  • Lead Built’s FP&A function, delivering insightful financial analysis, forecasting, and reporting that drive executive and board-level decision-making.
  • Develop and implement frameworks for scenario planning, financial modeling, and capital allocation.
  • Partner with leaders across the business to embed our growth model into our operations and deliver commercial decision support.
  • Drive financially minded leadership via capital allocation and budget management.
  • Establish and manage key financial and operational KPIs to measure and improve business performance.
  • Embed frugality and world-class resource allocation as a cultural and operational norm.
  • Conduct in-depth financial analysis to identify opportunities for cost savings, revenue enhancement, and process improvements.
  • Serve as a key advisor to the CFO and executive team on financial matters.
  • Prepare investor and board communications by developing clear, data-backed financial narratives and performance reporting.
  • Support M&A and partnership processes, bringing financial and strategic perspective to potential inorganic opportunities.
  • Oversee the accounting function, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting and compliance with GAAP.
  • Strengthen internal controls and processes to safeguard company assets and ensure audit readiness.
  • Manage treasury and cash flow forecasting to optimize working capital and liquidity.
  • Drive continuous process improvements within finance and accounting, focusing on automation, accuracy, and efficiency.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing finance and accounting team, fostering a culture of accountability, excellence, and continuous learning.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of progressive finance and accounting leadership experience, with at least 2 years in a VP or senior finance leadership role.
  • Deep experience in FP&A, financial modeling, and strategic finance within a SaaS business.
  • Experience implementing and optimizing financial and operational systems (e.g., NetSuite, Planful, Brex, Salesforce).
  • Proven track record of building and scaling finance teams in high-growth environments.
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
  • Exceptional analytical, process management, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.

Requirements

  • Built’s salary range for this position is $280,000-$310,000 USD per year.
