Role Description
The Program Accountant is responsible for routine financial transactions and performing month end close functions. This position manages tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities including:
- General ledger preparation
- Contract/grant reporting
- Financial reporting
- Year-end audit preparation
- Support of budget and forecast activities
With supervision, manages assigned contracts, grants and/or fiscal sponsor relationships which includes:
- Preparing monthly financial statements and/or invoices
- Comparing expenses to contracted budgeted amounts
- Completing and reviewing costing allocations
- Answering inquiries made by contract/grant managers and other personnel
Supports Accounts Receivable and/or Accounts Payable, revenue recognition, budget development, analysis, and forecasting. Serves as a liaison between Finance and assigned cost centers, programs, and/or projects.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) required
- Knowledge of Workday and Adaptive Planning technology systems is preferred
- Ability to work on a fast-paced team and build and maintain collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
