Role Description

We're hiring a Portfolio Counsel to lead monitoring of our growing portfolio of litigation finance investments. You’ll be joining a growing team of engineers, lawyers, and data scientists to make real-time decisions in a fast-paced environment.

In this role, you will own our existing investment portfolio, reporting directly to our Head of Portfolio Monitoring. Our portfolio requires active management by someone able to combine commercial savvy with legal nous.

This is a front-office position for someone looking to apply legal skills to managing a large number of investment positions. This person is comfortable with:

Monitoring underlying commercial litigation
Analyzing contracts
Negotiating with counterparties
Resolving disputes

All with an eye to optimally exiting our investment positions.

If you are a commercially minded generalist who enjoys hard work and new challenges, this may be the job for you; if you’ve ever answered a question with “I’m not that kind of attorney” – or “I’m just an attorney” – this would probably not be a good fit.

Qualifications

Commercially minded generalist
Experience in legal and investment environments

Requirements

Ability to analyze contracts
Experience in negotiating with counterparties
Skills in resolving disputes
