Role Description

This role involves working as a Financial Consultant - Actuarial within the Actuarial Technology And Optimization Management (ATOM) Team at Nationwide Financial Corporate Actuarial.

Create custom technical solutions for actuarial partners to increase ease and efficiency in their processes.
Work primarily with the Corporate Life and Annuity Modeling Teams to drive process automation and optimization.
Utilize Moody’s GGY AXIS and Milliman Integrate modeling platforms.
Collaborate with both Actuarial and Technology partners to create innovative solutions.
Support larger development efforts within the ATOM team, including automation of model input and output.
Contribute to visualization tools and support various areas of Actuarial, including Hedging, Modeling, Valuation, and Financial Reporting.

Qualifications

Undergraduate degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, computer science, or a similar background requiring modeling, programming, or quantitative analysis.
Typically, four or more years of actuarial or relevant experience.

Requirements

Proficiency with MS SQL and C# or similar language (3-5 years preferred).
Experience with Moody’s GGY Axis and Milliman Integrate platforms related to automation of model inputs, outputs, and runs.
Experience troubleshooting technical issues.
Experience interacting with both Actuarial and Technology partners.
Experience implementing standard technical practices and promoting best practices.
Experience with source control repositories (Git preferred).

Preferred Experience

Familiarity with life or annuity products through experience or Actuarial Exams.
Familiarity with data visualization tools (Power BI or Tableau preferred).
Familiarity with Databricks, including general database and data modeling concepts.
