Role Description
A Financial Accountant Staff is part of the Shared Service organization which partners with the business units of the Health System and oversees the management and reporting of financial data. This role prepares, examines and analyzes the company’s accounts, financial records and other financial obligations.
- Compiles financial statements
- Reviews data and ensures financial compliance
- Responsible for executing a variety of financial procedures, including:
- Month-end and year-end closings
- Accounts payable and receivable
- Tax returns
- Bank reconciliations
- General ledger reviews
Qualifications
- Minimum of two (2) years of work experience in the accounting field
- Previous experience with various software applications including automated accounting systems, general ledger, spreadsheets, databases, word processing, etc.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Proven ability to work with all levels of the organization and manage multiple projects at once
Requirements
- Three (3) to five (5) years of progressively more responsible accounting experience in general accounting or finance (preferred)
- One (1) year of public accounting experience (preferred)
- Demonstrated ability to lead projects to completion (preferred)
- Previous experience with areas within audit, internal controls and six sigma (preferred)
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or equivalent work experience (required)
- MBA, CPA, CIA or equivalent (preferred)
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- May require flexibility in work schedule to meet operational needs
