Role Description

Manages the development, implementation and/or maintenance of one or more accounting systems in accordance with GAAP policies and procedures.

Ensures compliance with financial transaction recording standards (e.g., general ledger, cash payments/collections, tax transactions, etc.).
Performs control/reconciliation of accounts and records (balance sheet, P&L, bank accounts, etc.).
Prepares accounting reports/schedules for internal audiences (management reporting) and/or for external audiences (compliance reporting) including consolidation of financial statements, cash flow reporting, budget reporting, etc.
Reviews and recommends policy changes, assess internal control structure and recommend changes.
Develops, maintains, monitors, and enforces accounting policies in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), as well as regulatory agency financial reporting and disclosure guidelines.
Performs reviews on technical accounting areas.
Reviews workflow for efficiencies and improvements and implements changes.
Documents and communicates complex technical accounting and financial reporting matters.
Ensures the accurate compilation, analysis and reporting of accounting data and revenue.
Participates in annual audits and special projects. May work with external consultants or auditors to provide required information and ensure proper recordkeeping for historical purposes.
Responsible for hiring, coaching, and performance management for direct reports.
Other duties as assigned.
