Role Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to join our growing finance team. This role is critical in ensuring accurate revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606, overseeing the monthly close process, and managing key accounting functions including billing, accounts payable (AP), and general ledger accounting. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who thrives in a dynamic environment and is eager to learn, contribute, and grow within the organization.
- Responsible for the consolidated month-end close process, ensuring that the accounting team closes the books in 4 business days (leaving 1 day for FP&A review).
- Either compile or review balance sheet reconciliations for all accounts.
- Subject matter expert in revenue recognition (ASC 606), making sure that the Company records all revenue transactions in accordance with applicable policies and procedures.
- Consolidate the financial reporting results for both internal and external distribution, including compiling and reviewing reports that will be sent to the Company’s owners as well as to lenders.
- Work alongside the Controller for all technical accounting matters, owning certain workstreams as assigned.
- Serve as the primary contact for the annual external audit, including (but not limited to) coordinating internal responses to audit questions, delegating requests to various internal resources, putting together the consolidated financial reporting package with financial statements and footnotes, etc. This would apply to the annual UK statutory audit as well.
- Oversee the billing process, ensuring timely and accurate invoicing.
- Manage accounts payable (AP), including vendor payment processing, approvals, and compliance.
- Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve automation.
- Leverage Sage Intacct to enhance reporting, analysis, and workflow efficiencies.
- Assist in the implementation of new accounting policies, tools, and systems.
Qualifications
- Strong analytical skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Broad understanding of US GAAP.
- Advanced understanding of financial modeling.
- Strong understanding of various technical accounting concepts, specifically as it relates to ASC 606.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong leadership track record and an ability to manage and motivate a team.
- Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially and professionally.
- Problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to overcoming challenges.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance.
- CPA strongly preferred.
- 5+ years prior experience in full cycle accounting.
- Ideal to have public accounting background (audit).
- Prior experience with revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606.
- Proven track record of success in managing financial reporting for a private equity backed company.
- Prior experience with Sage Intacct ERP strongly preferred.
