[Hiring] Team Leader, Engineering - Account Linking @Rocket Money

Role Description

The Account Linking team helps Rocket Money members see their finances clearly and confidently. We build and maintain the integrations that connect our members’ financial accounts, providing reliable access to accurate, up-to-date balances, transactions, and other financial data.

In this role, you'll:

• Lead a small team that has a direct impact on our business.
• Be the face of Account Linking.
• Be an advocate and ambassador for Account Linking, fostering strong working relationships with other engineering leaders, product managers, and operations team members.
• Drive collaboration, communicate capabilities and constraints, and help teams use financial account data effectively to unlock innovation for our users, team members, and business.
• Set the technical direction by guiding architectural decisions and identifying investments that unlock new capabilities.
• Champion reliability and data quality by defining how we measure the health of account connections and the completeness, accuracy, and freshness of financial data.
• Lead improvements in monitoring, incident response, and root-cause analysis.
• Drive delivery by owning the team’s commitments and executing a quarterly roadmap that balances new capabilities, reliability, and long-term system health.
• Stay close to the work through RFCs, code reviews, and collaborative problem-solving.
• Support and grow the team by providing ongoing coaching and actionable feedback, holding regular 1:1s, and delivering performance reviews.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience shipping production systems, ideally with some combination of Node/TypeScript, React, GraphQL, and Postgres (or similar relational database).
• Experience supporting external integrations and driving operational excellence on platform teams.
• Experience with large data sets in production and using observability and root-cause analysis to improve reliability and data quality.
• At least one year of experience leading an engineering team, with a track record of leading senior ICs.
• Experience with FinTech or consumer apps is a plus, but not a requirement.
