Position: Civil / Survey Engineer — Vulcan

Type: Contract

Compensation: $45–$60/hour

Location: Remote

Role Responsibilities

• Develop evaluation tasks from real site, civil, and survey work, including:
  • Civil grading plan review
  • Erosion and sediment control plan review
  • Stormwater design plan review
• Author tasks and correct answers, ensuring a second reviewer checks them before shipping.
• Review complex engineering documents for alignment with domain principles and methodologies.
• Provide structured feedback to improve AI model performance in the construction and property field.
• Work independently and asynchronously to meet deadlines while enhancing AI model outputs.

Qualifications

• Must-Have:
  • 3+ years in civil engineering, land development, or surveying.
  • PE in civil engineering or PLS for survey and mapping work.
  • Experience with US standards and state DOT or local land development practices.
• Preferred:
  • 8+ years of experience in the field.
  • Experience mentoring EITs or survey crews.

Requirements

• Hourly contractor
• Paid hourly at $45 to $60 depending on experience.
