Role Description

The Senior Technical Solutions Engineer will play a key role in supporting the development, evaluation, and integration of utility-scale energy storage systems and related power solutions, with a focus on:

• Power Conversion System (PCS)
• Energy Management System (EMS)
• Medium-voltage transformer (MVT)
• Microgrid
• Gas turbine applications

This position requires a systems-level understanding of electrical power systems, power electronics, and controls, with the ability to navigate both hardware and software engineering contexts. The ideal candidate will contribute to:

• Integration testing
• Internal tool development
• Solution validation
• Technical documentation
• Cross-functional coordination across multiple products, suppliers, and teams

Responsibilities

• Technical Due Diligence and Product Development Support
  • Conduct detailed technical due diligence on inverter, EMS, MVT, and related power-system products.
  • Develop and maintain internal tools to support system sizing, product design, project development, and evaluation of new opportunities.
  • Collaborate with R&D and technical teams for design development, interface definition, validation testing, and platform roadmap alignment.
  • Lead evaluation of technical specifications, drawings, certifications, test reports, and integration requirements for externally sourced products.
  • Support Independent Engineer reviews and customer-led technical due diligence.
  • Monitor and interpret evolving product standards, grid codes, electrical requirements, and communication protocols.
• Solution Development & Supply Chain Support
  • Oversee development and enhancement of internal engineering tools for system modeling and solution optimization.
  • Lead technical review of new inverter, EMS, MVT, gas turbine, and related electrical products.
  • Support definition and review of electrical interfaces between various systems.
  • Coordinate cross-functional communication to introduce new products to internal stakeholders.
  • Maintain traceability of vendor/product documentation and internal evaluations.
  • Work closely with procurement, product management, and R&D teams.
  • Coordinate parallel supplier and product workstreams.
• Cross-functional Support and Customization
  • Participate in integration testing between various systems.
  • Lead internal discussions to troubleshoot control strategies.
  • Provide technical input for project-specific requirements and custom feature requests.
  • Contribute to development of internal documentation and knowledge-sharing tools.
  • Collaborate closely with global R&D and applications engineering teams.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, power systems, controls engineering, or a related discipline; preference for candidates with a postgraduate degree.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in engineering, R&D, or project commissioning within power electronics, energy storage, microgrids, or related industries.
• Direct experience in inverter product development, control systems, or energy storage project commissioning is strongly preferred.
• Strong general electrical-system knowledge, including power systems, power electronics, inverters, and system integration.
• Experience with Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) and microgrid applications.
• Experience with medium-voltage transformers and associated MV equipment.
• Knowledge of gas turbine systems is preferred.
• Familiarity with key standards and certifications related to inverter, EMS, MVT, and microgrid applications.
• Experience collaborating with international partners.
• Demonstrated ability to lead or contribute to the development of internal engineering tools.
• Strong technical, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
• Proficiency in Mandarin is a plus but not required.
