[Hiring] Senior Nuclear System Integration Engineer @Cynet Systems

Role Description

Responsible for Plant Integration Engineering (PIE) activities that support the organization's BWRX-300 Small Modular Reactor (SMR) program. Typical working hours are from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM EST.

• Demonstrates accountability for cost, schedule, quality, and technical accuracy of assigned tasks.
• Support development of work instructions, execution, and change management of system integration programs, including:
  • Seismic II/I interaction evaluations
  • High Energy Line Break loads
  • Piping/Equipment Attachments
  • Pipe Break Hazards
  • Internal Flooding
  • Environmental qualification envelope
• Provide technical guidance and leadership, oversee project scheduling and resource planning, develop talent through mentorship, and act as the point-of-contact between the engineering team and both internal and external customers.
• Conducts component and system integration with overall new nuclear plant design, handling activities spanning multiple components and systems focused on integrating for maximum performance, operability, and design to cost.
• Manages product and systems requirements, specifications, and flow down.
• Drive the identification of verification and validation (V&V) requirements at the plant, system, and component level.
• Responsible for defining plant-level design requirements for the systems, components, subcontractors, and partner teams.
• Manages interface between systems, components, and project/product management organizations.
• Developing specialized knowledge in the discipline; serves as best practice/quality resource and maintains awareness of latest technical developments in own area.
• Contributes towards strategy and policy development and ensures delivery within area of responsibility.
• Uses judgment to make decisions or solve moderately complex tasks or problems in areas of operational/product management, manufacturing, technology, or engineering.
• Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience; may lead small projects with moderate risks and resource requirements.
• Explains difficult or sensitive information and works to build consensus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Physics from an accredited university or college.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in an engineering capacity.

Requirements

• Master's or PhD in Engineering (Nuclear, Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil).
• Direct experience developing or performing line load calculations, flooding analysis, and hazard reports.
• Experience with Nuclear Island, Turbine Island, and BOP plant systems and with the associated safety analyses design bases.
• Experience as a Senior Reactor Operator (SRO) at a nuclear power plant is strongly desired.
• SRO experience in multiple capacities including on-shift, outage prep, work control, and/or training.
• 10+ years of commercial nuclear engineering experience in multiple capacities including Design, Licensing, PRA, and/or Systems -OR- 10+ years of shipyard nuclear systems engineering experience.
• Requirements Management experience utilizing DOORS or a similar tool.
• Licensed Professional Engineer.
• Strong knowledge of plant operations, licensing and design bases, transient, and accident analysis.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
