Role Description

The Sr. Network Engineer 4, Design & Architecture, supports the design of custom enterprise network solutions for our Comcast Business customers as well as troubleshooting, installing, implementing and administering network systems, and providing Tier IV Help Desk escalation support. Role will be virtually based in Colorado or Illinois with up to 15% annual travel.

• Serves as a technical lead, providing guidance and mentorship to junior network engineers.
• Leads the design and implementation of custom network solutions for existing and potential customers.
• Supports the Solutions Architect group to design, document and implement customer pilots.
• Provides network engineering support to Sales organization as required.
• Provides Tier IV escalation support to Help Desk.
• Troubleshoots, diagnoses and resolves customer network issues.
• Researches, evaluates and provides recommendations for new hardware and software solutions.
• Participates in a rotating “on call” schedule to provide support for our business and customers.
• Creates technical presentations as needed, presenting to various audiences.
• Develops, documents and maintains processes and procedures related to various complex customer networks.
• Follows and enforces documented processes and procedures to meet established compliance requirements.
• Analyzes customer bandwidth requirements and system interdependencies.
• Supports various professional services projects for existing or prospective customers.
• Exercises independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
• Regular, consistent and punctual attendance; must be able to work nights and weekends as necessary.
• This position is ineligible for visa sponsorship.
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

• B.A. or B.S. Degree in a technical field from an accredited college or university or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of experience in network design, implementation, installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of complex enterprise networks.
• CCNP, JNCIP, FNCSP(NSE4), CCVP, CCSP Certification or equivalent on-the-job experience considered.
• Strong working knowledge of various Vendor routers, switches, firewalls (Cisco Firepower and Fortinet FortiGate preferred), SDWAN appliances and wireless devices.
• Strong understanding of networking technologies including SDWAN technologies, High Availability protocols, IP Routing protocols, Tunneling protocols, QOS, Traffic Policing and Shaping, ACLs, AAA, TACACS+, RADIUS, SNMP, DHCP, Switch VLANs, VTP, STP, Wireless Networking, VoIP, SIP and PRI voice technologies.
• Understanding of various network tools including WhatsUp Gold, SolarWinds Orion, Cisco CCE, Cisco Prime, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer, Wireshark or Netscout.
• Understanding of various compliance requirements, including PCI DSS, HIPAA, SOC a plus.
• Organized individual with the ability to manage multiple projects or tasks.
• Strong technical documentation skills.
• Strong verbal skills, including technical presentations to all levels of technical expertise.

Benefits

• Base pay within the range of $102,490.09 - $153,735.13 in Illinois.
• Base pay within the range of $102,490.09 - $161,055.85 in Colorado.
• Most sales positions are eligible for a Commission under the terms of an applicable plan.
