  • Support Vendor Response (VR) type issues such as Supplier Change Requests, Inspection and Test Plans, Procedure Reviews, and Vendor Document Reviews.
  • Translate design requirements into clear, buildable fabrication documents.
  • Review and approve vendor fabrication procedures, manufacturing plans, and test plans.
  • Monitor and resolve technical issues during fabrication, fit-up, and final inspection.
  • Ensure compliance with ASME Section III (and related codes), and nuclear QA requirements (10 CFR 50 Appendix B / NQA-1).
  • Support environmental and seismic qualification of components, and document justification for design/fabrication decisions.

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or similar field.
  • Experience with Boiling Water Reactors.
  • Proficiency with CAD, specifically Autodesk Inventor 3D CAD design.
  • Demonstrated proficiency interpreting engineering drawings, model-based definitions, and GD&T requirements in accordance with ASME Y14.5.
  • Experience with weldment design and fabrication.
  • Strong interpersonal and proven leadership skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to document, plan, and execute programs.

Nice To Have

  • 4 years of experience with ASME codes & standards or equivalent.
  • 7 years of experience in heavy industrial, thermal power, or nuclear industry working in mechanical equipment and component design, including specification of design requirements, design development, procurement, test, and fabrication/installation support.
  • Ability to take ownership and responsibility for scoping, planning, scheduling, budgeting, action tracking, prioritization, monitoring, corrective actions, and results.
  • Continuous improvement mindset with an ability to identify, influence, and implement better ways to do an activity or process.
  • Knowledge, skill, and experience in regulatory affairs and licensing processes (e.g., NRC, CNSC).
  • Master of Science Degree in an Engineering discipline.
  • Professional Engineer license.
  • Proficiency with ANSYS FEA analysis.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related field).
  • Experience: 5+ years in nuclear or highly regulated industry, focused on ASME Section III Class 1, 2, or 3 mechanical components (pressure vessels, piping, valves, supports, etc.).
  • Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of ASME Section III and ASME B31.1; familiarity with ASME material, welding, and NDE requirements; knowledge of ASME Y14.5 GD&T experience working under nuclear QA programs (10 CFR 50 Appendix B / NQA-1).
  • Soft Skills: Proven ability to resolve complex technical issues under schedule pressure; strong written and verbal communication with suppliers and internal stakeholders.

Desired Qualifications

  • Certifications: P.E. preferred; ASME Certifying Engineer strongly preferred (or actively pursuing).
