Role Description

IMEG is hiring a Mechanical Designer in Greenwood Village, CO. This role assists with engineering analysis, design, and implementation oversight of mechanical systems for the vertical building industry.

• Support project planning, budgeting, scheduling, quality control, safety, and multidisciplinary coordination.
• Contribute to high-performance, energy-efficient design aligned with MEP2050 and AIA2030.

What You'll Do

• Complete assigned engineering tasks of low to moderate complexity and assist with the design and analysis of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
• Use engineering software and tools to create detailed designs, specifications, and calculations according to code requirements and IMEG standards.
• Interact with clients to understand needs, gather project requirements, communicate technical information, and maintain client relationships.
• Support the execution of consulting projects as part of a project team.
• Assist with project planning, budgeting, and scheduling to meet project deadlines and objectives.
• Document design decisions and client instructions while monitoring project design progress.
• Analyze low to moderate complexity engineering tasks and collaborate with senior engineers and consultants to develop practical and efficient solutions.
• Participate in IMEG quality control processes to ensure designs and solutions meet IMEG quality standards, industry standards, and client requirements.
• Stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and mechanical engineering best practices, and contribute to research, development, and innovation efforts.
• Prioritize safety by identifying and mitigating potential safety risks associated with mechanical systems.
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, and project managers to deliver integrated solutions that meet project goals.

Qualifications

• 5 years of experience minimum required, 6 preferred, in the building design consulting or construction industry.

Required Skills/Abilities

• Developing proficiency of design techniques, tools, and concepts involved in the production of technical plans and specifications.
• Strong technical and analytical skills including developing proficiency of principles relating to thermodynamics, psychrometrics, heat transfer, and fluid mechanics as it relates to mechanical systems design in HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems for buildings.
• Proficiency in industry standard engineering software and tools including HVAC load calculation software.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Eagerness to learn and adapt to new challenges.
• Developing proficiency in the use of Building Information Modeling (BIM) software.
• Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups.
• Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Ability to travel up to 5% with occasional overnight stays.

Preferred

• Associates degree, or certificate, in Building Information Modeling (BIM) or Engineering preferred.

State of Colorado Pay

Range: $90,000-100,000

The range listed above represents the base pay IMEG reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position in the work location identified above at the time of posting. Individual compensation will be determined based on job-related factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, abilities, and licensure and certifications.
