[Hiring] Harness Design Engineer @ALTEN Technology

Role Description

As a Harness Design Engineer, you will:

• Own electrical harness design for the drone airframe, docks, and test platforms. The role is approximately 90% electrical and 10% mechanical (clips, routing, retention).

Responsibilities:

• Design wire harnesses for the airframe, dock systems, and test benches.
• Select connectors, wire, and harness components.
• Create harness drawings, schematics, wire lists, and BOMs.
• Define routing, clipping, and retention with the mechanical team.
• Plan and support harness testing (continuity, hipot) and resolve issues.
• Support transition of harness designs to production.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of harness design experience.
• Connector and component selection experience.
• Wire sizing, shielding, grounding, and power distribution fundamentals.
• Harness test and validation experience.
• Familiarity with the aerospace regulatory environment (FAA airworthiness requirements) and aerospace wiring standards (e.g., SAE AS50881).

Requirements

• UAV or aerospace harness experience (preferred).
• Harness design tools (e.g., Capital, E3, SolidWorks Electrical) (preferred).
• Experience supporting production build and inspection (preferred).

Benefits

• Salary Range: $120k - $150k.
• The actual salary offered is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, the candidate’s combination of job-related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience.
