Role Description

ENTRUST Solutions Group is seeking a Design Engineer to contribute to electric distribution system design projects that power communities. As a Design Engineer, you'll provide support for electric distribution design projects under the electric programs team. The Design Engineer is responsible for working independently to gather detailed information on utility poles as well as collaborating with design team members.

This role is designated as remote, giving you the flexibility to primarily work from home while staying actively connected to your team and projects. We value collaboration and responsiveness, so we ask our remote team members to be available when in-office presence is needed—such as for client meetings, team events, or training sessions. A typical day may include the following:

• Travel to utility and customer locations to perform site visits, pole inspections, or audits while assessing equipment performance, identifying potential issues, and making recommendations for improvement.
• Complete design tasks for associated electric utility design projects, including drafting, engineering calculations, easement validation, design/construction cost estimating, and permit package development.
• Manage multiple projects to assure timely, successful completion resulting in high levels of customer satisfaction and company/departmental goal achievements.
• Maintain accurate records of activities, including service calls, repairs, and maintenance performed.
• Perform routine assessment tasks on equipment to ensure proper functionality and prevent issues, including diagnosing and troubleshooting problems, and repairing or replacing defective parts.
• Communicate effectively with customers and third-party stakeholders to discuss any conflicts as they arise.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering
• Computer skills
• Must have own vehicle/reliable transportation and willingness to travel often (mileage reimbursement applies)

Requirements

• Design skills including AutoCAD or Microstation

• This position pays between $60,000 - $70,000 and is an exempt position, eligible for overtime pay.
