[Hiring] Engineering Manager @Leidos

Role Description

Leidos is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to join our Defense Enclave Services (DES) team, who will support an extensive digital modernization program critical to Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) and Department of Defense (DoD) Fourth Estate Agencies. The Engineering Manager will be responsible for managing teams of engineers focused on improving the current DES single service provider (SSP) integrated environment to efficiently scale, deliver, and sustain the DES service offering to the 4th Estate customers.

• Implement automation and strengthen the cyber security posture.
• Pre-position the DoDNet environment for scalability and improved performance.
• Reduce redundancies (flatten the network) and increase efficiencies in sustaining the SSP environment.

This position will focus on delivering enhanced network capabilities for the DISA network, including:

• Implementation of Zero-Trust policies.
• Migration of network services.
• Implementation of IPv6.

As the engineering manager, the candidate will be responsible for overseeing the on-time and on-budget completion of these projects, which includes:

• Daily management of engineering resources.
• Hosting regular status meetings with the government.
• Coordinating the removal of obstacles with other engineering teams and government leaders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 12+ years of prior relevant experience or Master’s degree with 6-10 years of prior relevant experience.
• An active DoD Secret clearance. (US Citizenship required).
• Current IAT Level II or higher certification, such as Security+ CE or CISSP (IAM Level II/III as required by the position).
• Experience managing teams of engineers, including mentoring and fostering communication and collaboration across the team.
• Experience managing IT projects for the DoD or other U.S. Government agencies.
• Proven ability to execute projects effectively, including management of staffing, schedule, and cost.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, a demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, and a strong problem-solving mindset.
• Familiarity with the Atlassian suite, including Jira and Confluence.

Requirements

• Experience managing the implementation of Network Segmentation, Full Stack IPv6, and/or Infoblox DDI.
