[Hiring] Commissioning Technical Director @Microsoft

Role Description

Microsoft Cloud Operations and Innovation (CO+I) is the team behind the cloud. The CO+I Commissioning team is responsible for managing the end-to-end delivery of new data center capacity for CO+I.

The Commissioning Technical Director - Americas is responsible for:

• Standardization of program processes
• Maintenance and improvements of program baseline test scripts
• Performing project health analysis against approved SLAs
• Evaluating site resource effectiveness
• Conducting spot audits
• Assisting with onboarding and training of the Commissioning site-based team

Collaboration with architects, engineers, construction managers, network engineers, data center operations teams, and finance teams is essential to streamline and improve delivery of data center capacity.

This role is eligible for remote work.

Qualifications

• Doctorate Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Reliability Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field AND 5+ years technical engineering experience
• OR Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Reliability Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field AND 7+ years technical engineering experience
• OR Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Reliability Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience

Requirements

• Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements
• Microsoft Cloud Background Check: Required to pass upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter

Preferred Qualifications

• Construction Quality Assurance / Quality Control (QA/QC)
• Able to develop and write detailed Commissioning Scripts
• Issue identification and resolution management
• Understanding of UPS systems, switchgear, generators, chillers, and critical HVAC & mechanical systems including controls systems
• Commissioning Certification
• OSHA 30 or equivalent qualification
• NFPA-70E
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
• Proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), MS Teams

Benefits

• The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $142,800 - $274,800 per year
• Different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, is USD $188,000 - $304,200 per year
• Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation
