Role Description

Avalara is looking for a seasoned Sr. Learning Program Designer to support our New Business Sales teams. This role oversees the design, development, and implementation of comprehensive learning programs that align with organizational objectives. This role focuses on creating the overarching structure and strategy for larger programs, providing a cohesive framework for instructional designers to develop individual courses. Leveraging an outcome-based approach, the Sr. Learning Program Designer ensures all program components are aligned with measurable learning outcomes and business goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Curriculum Development, Instructional Design, Education, Business or a related field.
• Master’s degree or certifications in instructional design, learning & development, or project management preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in curriculum program development, education, instructional design, or learning & development.
• Proven experience designing and managing large-scale learning programs.
• Strong familiarity with outcome-based instructional design approaches, such as backwards design.
• Expertise in instructional design frameworks (e.g., ADDIE, SAM) and learning taxonomies (e.g., Bloom’s Taxonomy).
• Strong project management skills, with the ability to oversee multiple program components.
• Proficiency with eLearning technologies, LMS platforms, and collaborative tools.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
