Role Description

Franklin University, located in Columbus, Ohio, is seeking a Program Chair, Financial Planning & Financial Management to lead the Bachelor of Science in Financial Planning and the Associate and Bachelor of Science in Financial Management programs within the Ross College of Business. This is a full-time, 12-month position responsible for providing strategic direction for the programs through academic leadership, curriculum oversight, faculty supervision, teaching, assessment, scholarship, and engagement with industry and professional organizations.

Candidates may work in a remote capacity, with an expectation to be onsite as needed to support departmental initiatives, strategic planning, collaboration, commencement, faculty assemblies, and other University events. This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced academic leader to shape the future of financial education while preparing students for success in an evolving financial services profession.

• Provides leadership for all aspects of the Financial Planning and Financial Management programs.
• Oversees curriculum quality, program assessment, accreditation and certification alignment.
• Leads curriculum development and revision efforts.
• Approves course design and development.
• Oversees course scheduling and staffing.
• Ensures program alignment with applicable accreditation standards and CFP® Board educational requirements.
• Responsible for recruiting, mentoring, assigning, observing, and evaluating lead faculty and adjunct faculty.
• Fosters a collaborative and student-centered teaching environment.
• Teaches undergraduate and graduate courses within the discipline.
• Partners with Enrollment Management, Student Affairs, Transfer Credit, and other University departments to support student success.
• Leads annual program assessment activities.
• Develops and maintains a Program Advisory Board.
• Collaborates with Marketing to support program growth.
• Participates in University committees and governance.
• Engages in scholarship and professional development.
• Represents Franklin University through professional associations and community partnerships.

Qualifications

• Earned doctorate in Finance, Financial Planning, or a closely related discipline from an institutionally accredited college or university.
• Minimum of 18 graduate semester credit hours in the discipline.
• At least five years of university-level teaching experience.
• Five years of progressively responsible leadership or management experience.
• Demonstrated success in curriculum development, faculty leadership, assessment, and student engagement.
• Exceptional communication, collaboration, organizational, and leadership skills.
• Commitment to student success and academic excellence.
• Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a dynamic higher education environment.
• Professional credentials such as Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP®) and/or Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA®) are strongly preferred.
• Significant professional experience in the financial services industry is strongly preferred.
