Role Description
The Financial Services (“FS”) team is seeking an experienced manager to oversee Campbell Oil Company’s (“Campbell”) accounts receivable in a manner that increases the customer’s purchasing power, optimizes the partner’s cash flow and maximizes the company’s sales opportunities. The Manager, Financial Services will be a key leader in hiring, developing and retaining talented employees to create a center of excellence for the invoice-to-cash lifecycle.

Lead a team that develops, recommends and implements best practices related to underwriting, accounts receivable management and customer engagement.

Maintain strong internal controls and compliance with Campbell’s guidelines and procedures in addition to commercial credit laws.

Possess strong financial analysis skills and utilize experience to drive productivity and results by implementing innovative solutions.

Qualifications

Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance or 7 to 10 years relevant work experience within credit and financial management disciplines.

Experience in credit, financial analysis, collections, cash applications, customer servicing and talent development.

Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

In-depth understanding of business management environment, financial statement analysis, accounting conventions and industry-specific financial standards and trends.

Strong management, coaching and motivational skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to relate well to all levels of management.

Strong problem solving, decision-making and timely follow-up skills with demonstrated abilities to work well within defined time constraints.

Ability to eagerly adapt to change and assist the team in managing change.

Proficiency in computer software applications (e.g., Microsoft Office, Excel, Word) and the ability to learn an enterprise resource planning (ERP) application.

Comprehensive understanding in aspects of commercial law including negotiable instruments, bankruptcy law, legal procedures and the Uniform Commercial Code requirements.
Requirements

Effectively manage a portfolio of partner accounts by building positive relationships with Campbell partners and the company’s internal departments.

Provide direction, coaching and development to FS team members through daily interaction on business issues.

Analyze creditworthiness of partners to determine acceptable levels of risk.

Underwrite and approve aggregate credit extension within approval authority.
-
Monitor and approve pending orders within predetermined time periods and underwriting authority.

Understand partners’ financing needs and leverage resources available from Campbell and third-party financial vendors.

Work in partnership with sales, marketing, business development and operations to develop partner management strategies.

Ensure a high degree of accuracy, consistency, confidentiality and timeliness when analyzing financial statements.

Develop and update corporate credit policies and procedures.
-
Prepare periodic reports of accounts receivable performance and significant underwriting and/or past dues exposures.

Forecast bad debt reserves that accurately reflect high-risk customers.

Participate in the development of FS financial tools.

Compile and evaluate data for credit/financial benchmarking.

Foster a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, innovation and excellence.

Manage and control Campbell’s operating expenses to conform to annual allocation.
