Role Description

The University of Providence seeks an accomplished academic faculty member to teach in the Master’s program in Clinical Mental Health Counseling within the School of Health Professions (SHP). Reporting to the program director, the Chair will be part of the program’s leadership team. Responsibilities include:

• Teaching graduate courses
• Evaluating program effectiveness
• Advising and mentoring students
• Developing programs and courses
• Ensuring compliance with accreditation standards
• Recruiting students
• Representing the SHP on university-wide committees and teams

This is a remote position; however, preference will be given to candidates within commuting distance of Great Falls, MT.

Qualifications

• PhD in Counselor Education from a CACREP accredited program (required)
• Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) (preferred)
• Licensed Addiction Counselor (LAC) (preferred)
• Teaching experience in higher education, with a preference for experience in teaching graduate-level courses
• Demonstrated success in curriculum development, program evaluation, and accreditation
• Experience with distance education and online learning platforms
• Proven ability in academic networking and commitment to integrating best practices into academic systems and processes
• Evidence of ongoing scholarly activity

Requirements

• If eligible for professional licensure (e.g., Professional Counselor, National Certified Counselor, Certified Rehabilitation Counselor), must hold a current, unencumbered license and be eligible for licensure in the State of Montana
