Role Description
Join Think Academy as a full-time Math Competition Coach, teaching AIME and JMO-level content to advanced competition students. Teach with a structured curriculum, receive paid training, and grow into long-term coaching and curriculum roles. This is a long-term teaching opportunity β not a short-term tutoring role.

What You'll Do:

Teach AMC10 / AIME / JMO competition problems virtually through the Think Academy Teaching Platform.

Develop personalized training plans tailored to students' levels and goals.

Create high-quality problem sets, handouts, and learning materials aligned with various competition systems.

Stay up to date with the latest trends, formats, and problem styles of annual math contests.

Guide and mentor students in preparing for local and international math competitions, including BMT, HMMT, and others.
Schedule & Commitment:

Onboarding starts Summer 2026, with paid in-person training in June/July.

~3-4 classes/week (3-hour classes, ~9-12 teaching hours), plus admin hours (problem set development, grading, prep, student/parent communication), total 30-40 hrs/week.

Class windows (Pacific Time): Wed-Fri, 4pm-8pm and Sat-Sun, 9am-8pm.

Once classes are assigned, your schedule stays consistent week to week (except federal holidays).

Commit to at least one year (till May 2027).
Qualifications

Academic background in Mathematics or a related STEM field (Master's degree or higher).

Personal experience in math competitions, with at least qualification to USA Junior Mathematical Olympiad or equivalent level.

Strong mathematical foundation and deep understanding of competition-style problem solving.

Ability to explain advanced concepts clearly and inspire students at different levels.

Available during the class windows above.

Passionate about competitive mathematics and committed to helping students excel.

Prior competition math teaching or coaching experience.

Participation in team-based math competitions (e.g., BMT, HMMT) is a strong plus.
Compensation & Benefits

Teaching Hours: $75+/hour.

Non-Teaching/Admin Hours: $25-35/hour (grading, class prep, parent communication, and related work).
