Role Description

Professional and Distance Education Programs (PDEP) is accepting applications for a part-time Lecturer appointment to teach online, graduate course(s) in the Master of Systems Engineering program. Duties include but are not limited to:

• Online course development in partnership with Ohio State Online
• Curriculum/syllabus design
• Content and materials development
• Teaching

The selected candidate(s) will be expected to complete activities and provide support for developing and teaching graduate students, depending on chosen candidate’s degree certification. The appointment would begin in Spring 2027 for the 2026-27 academic year, continuing in future years based upon performance and enrollment. All courses are taught online.

The Ohio State University will not sponsor applicants for work visas for this position.

Qualifications

• Masters degree or equivalent in Systems Engineering or a related area
• Three to five years of teaching and/or industry related experience in the fields of Systems Engineering or relevant areas
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills
• A commitment to or demonstrated efforts in teaching that reflect Ohio State’s Shared Values
