Role Description
The Learning Development Specialist is responsible for designing, developing, and delivering high-quality professional development content within the Stride Professional Development (SPD) platform. This role focuses on creating engaging learning experiences, including online courses and live trainings, that support educator growth and improve instructional practice.

Research, write, and develop professional development content, including courses, scripts, decks, newsletters, and training materials.

Collaborate with instructional designers and production teams to translate written content into high-quality learning experiences.

Apply best practices in adult learning and instructional design to ensure content is engaging, accessible, and effective.

Support the development of multimedia learning assets (videos, activities, assessments, etc.).

Contribute to maintaining consistency and quality across learning experiences.

Create live and asynchronous professional development assets for Stride leaders and teachers as needed.

Coordinate with school leaders and cross-functional teams to develop professional development needs analyses and plans.

Prepare face-to-face (F2F) and virtual professional development opportunities for Stride schools.

Collaborate with local, regional, and national teams regarding instruction, resources, interventions, and data-driven decision-making.

Assess the effectiveness of national trainings and present results to stakeholders.

Revise and update existing courses based on feedback, data, and evolving organizational needs.

Ensure all content aligns with instructional best practices and organizational standards.

Stay current on trends, research, and best practices in professional development, instructional design, and Kβ12 education to inform content development and ensure relevance.

Contribute in the development and implementation of the overall Talent Development roadmap and strategy.

Qualifications

2β5 years of experience in education, professional development, instructional design, or a related field.

Strong writing and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex ideas into clear, actionable content.

Experience developing professional learning content, curriculum, or instructional materials for adult learners.

Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office and web-based tools.

Ability to clear required background check.
Requirements

Experience in Kβ12 education or educator professional development.

Familiarity with adult learning principles and instructional best practices.

Experience collaborating with instructional design or production teams.

Basic familiarity with design tools like Canva.

Experience supporting or delivering professional development (virtual or in-person).
Benefits

Compensation range: $24.66 - $30.00 per hour.
