Role Description
The Learning & Development Specialist will support the coordination of agreed Programme Operations learning and development activities, including:

Workplan tracking
-
Meeting preparation
-
Stakeholder follow-up
-
Documentation of key actions
-
Practical support to keep priority initiatives moving
Additionally, the role involves:

Designing and improving practical learning solutions and differentiated pathways for Programme Operations employees
-
Facilitating webinars, workshops, learning events, or other sessions where additional specialist capacity is required

Providing practical advice, design support, and quality review on learning approaches, materials, facilitation methods, and learning technologies
-
Supporting and advising on relevant L&D partnerships and identifying opportunities for collaborative approaches and initiatives
Qualifications

Advanced university degree in Learning & Development, Human Resources, Social Sciences, or related field

Minimum of 5 years of experience in working across all phases of learning design, development, and delivery

Demonstrated experience in leveraging learning technologies and modern learning platforms
-
Proven experience in L&D with a strategic focus, ideally within WFP or other similarly sized UN organization
-
Experience in developing cross-functional learning paths and/or curricula, particularly in emergency response, supply chain, and food assistance

Experience in working with subject matter experts to build learning solutions and performance support tools
-
Experience in a UN agency or international NGO would be an asset

Previous experience in HR related project management

Expertise in instructional design, learning technologies, and facilitating both in-person and virtual training

Ability to analyze, design, and deliver learning solutions that foster growth and measurable results

Excellent interpersonal skills to collaborate and influence internally

Strong client orientation and ability to quickly build knowledge of stakeholders' strategies

Confidence and mental agility to assimilate different perspectives

Up-to-date knowledge of the latest trends in learning design and technology

Strong creative problem-solving skills; agile, flexible, and patient

Ability to analyze qualitative and quantitative data on the impact of learning initiatives

Fluency in oral and written English is essential; good working knowledge of a second UN language is desirable
