[Hiring] Language and Literacy in the Primary Years 2 - Online Facilitation @Linc Education Services Pte Ltd

Role Description

This is a remote position.

As an experienced online educator, the candidate will work as an independent contractor of LINC Education to offer online facilitation services for students studying in the Masters of Teaching-Primary (Online) offered by Victoria University Online. Candidate must possess strong knowledge of language and literacy education in the primary years, with expertise in literacy acquisition, compositional techniques, text representation, and contemporary literacy pedagogy for Years 3–6.

• Support students in critically evaluating literacy theories
• Apply innovative teaching strategies for diverse learners
• Integrate literacy theory and practice across the curriculum
• Select appropriate assessment approaches to support literacy development

Qualifications

• A Doctoral qualification or Master's Degree in Teaching and/or the relevant discipline area, or equivalent accreditation and standing
• 5 years of relevant primary/secondary school teaching, research and/or professional experience in the last 5 years
• Knowledge and understanding of teacher education policies and practices
• Valid Teacher’s Registration in Australia (VIT Preferred), but QCT, NSW acceptable
• Empathetic, ambitious, warm and outgoing personality willing to work closely with people from diverse cultures
• Proficient in English language; excellent oral and written communication
• Must possess a working laptop and have access to high-speed (>10 MBPS) stable internet connection
• Ability to quickly learn and use technology platforms for interacting with students, including host university’s LMS and LINC trac (training on these platforms will be provided)
• Availability between 5 pm to 10 pm every day

Requirements

• Subject matter guidance to a group of 25-30 undergraduate online students
• Support in learning skills like academic writing, research and time management
• 1:1 and small group tutoring sessions
• Guidance on relevant reference material
• Assessment marking with long-form feedback
• Management of discussion forums
• Proactive, prompt and personalised support to student queries and issues
• Prompt interaction with students over email, or calls/online sessions from locations of their convenience (e.g. home, office etc.)
