Role Description
The Career Services Externship Coordinator is responsible for partnering with external employers to facilitate externship placement opportunities for students and graduates.

Place Students in Externships:

Assist in driving student transition from classwork to externship opportunities.

Provide Guidance on Externship Placement:
-
Help identify and overcome student and affiliate obstacles to foster long-term externship success.

Build Employer and Community Partnerships:
-
Establish and maintain effective relationships with corporations, non-profits, government organizations, and community partners to promote externship opportunities for students and graduates.

Support Team Reporting:
-
Update department leadership for meetings and support stakeholder use of relevant reporting and data.

Collaborate with career advisors to support students' career goals.

Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
-
High school diploma or equivalent.
-
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
-
Ability to provide constructive feedback and guidance.
-
Knowledge of current interview techniques and industry standards.
Requirements

Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience (preferred).

Experience in career services or a related field is preferred.

Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other business tools such as Microsoft Teams.

Demonstrate knowledge of and carefully follow all applicable federal and state compliance requirements and regulations.
-
Effectively communicate compliance requirements to other staff as appropriate and quickly escalate any compliance concerns to the Compliance department.
