Role Description
We are sharing a specialised consulting opportunity for psychologists and researchers with doctoral-level expertise in child development, developmental psychology, and related behavioural sciences to contribute to advanced AI training and evaluation initiatives.
Selected professionals will:

Review and annotate developmentally relevant datasets

Assess AI-generated outputs for psychological accuracy and cultural appropriateness

Contribute to scenario and guideline development

Help ensure that AI systems handle child-development topics with appropriate cognitive, linguistic, and psychosocial understanding
The opportunity is particularly suited to professionals with strong academic or research backgrounds; direct clinical experience is not required. No prior AI experience is necessary.
Qualifications

Doctorate (PhD) in Child Development, Developmental Psychology, or a closely related field

Strong academic or research expertise in child development

Deep understanding of developmental psychology across cognitive, social, emotional, and behavioural domains

Experience conducting research, reviewing evidence, or developing psychologically informed frameworks

Ability to assess complex scenarios involving children's learning and behaviour

Strong analytical judgement and attention to developmental nuance

Excellent written communication skills

Comfortable documenting detailed findings and recommendations

Able to work independently in a remote digital environment

Comfortable collaborating with distributed interdisciplinary teams

Direct clinical experience is welcome but not required

Experience with technology-driven, digital, or AI-related projects is highly desirable

Prior work involving culturally diverse populations or multilingual contexts is advantageous

Scenario & Test Case Development

Contribute expert analysis to realistic scenarios involving children's learning and behaviour

Develop or refine test cases representing different developmental stages

Evaluate how age, context, environment, and individual differences affect interpretation

Help create challenging examples that test psychological reasoning

Ensure scenarios remain grounded in established developmental knowledge

Cultural, Linguistic & Psychosocial Review

Assess content for cultural appropriateness across diverse backgrounds

Evaluate developmental guidance within different linguistic and social contexts

Review how AI systems address cognitive and psychosocial differences

Identify assumptions that may not generalise across cultures or communities

Support development of more inclusive and context-sensitive evaluation standards

Guideline Development & Research Collaboration

Create or refine guidelines for developmentally appropriate AI behaviour

Document findings and recommendations clearly for research teams

Collaborate with interdisciplinary contributors on model improvements

Work will involve developmental-psychology evaluation, dataset annotation, scenario development, cultural review, and guideline creation

Project scope, datasets, languages, evaluation criteria, and psychological scenarios may evolve depending on research needs
