Role Description
The Consultant, Mental Health & Suicide Prevention (Washington State) is a member of the High School Programs team within JEDβs School Programs and Consulting division. This role is an excellent opportunity for experienced student affairs practitioners and/or mental health clinicians who are seeking to utilize their talents in support of Washington State Schools.

Aid in the creation and implementation of strategic plans for partner high schools supporting student mental health, substance use, and suicide prevention efforts.

Engage in reviewing school processes, programs, and protocols, and analyze school-specific data to inform strategies and guidance.

Utilize experience and knowledge of mental health and educational environments in program delivery to school leadership.

Skilled in relationship management, problem-identification, problem-solving, and resource development.

Provide guidance and technical assistance in school mental health.

Report to a Senior Consultant and work collaboratively with the entire JED team.

Must reside within Washington State, within an easy commuting distance from an airport for travel to partner districts.

Ability and desire to travel to partner high schools, districts, conferences, and JED headquarters in NYC regularly (up to 30% travel).
Qualifications

Minimum of masterβs level training in education, educational leadership, counseling, psychology, social work, or related field required.

At least 5-7 years professional experience working within, or in direct partnership with PK-12 schools and school districts.

Strong technical knowledge of school-based mental health, Social Emotional Learning, suicide prevention, and substance use prevention.

Deep knowledge of PK-12 school systems and systems-level change.

Self-driven and results-oriented with a positive outlook and strong problem-solving skills.

Strong research, analytical, and critical thinking abilities.

Experience leading, building, and managing secondary education programs.

Experience in research and evaluation methodology, strongly preferred.
Requirements

Excellent verbal communication.

Excellent written communication with experience in drafting report-style formats.

Excellent presentation skills with experience presenting to large groups.

Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills.

Experience working with Asana, Salesforce, or other CRM and project management systems strongly preferred.

Ability to travel to campuses, conferences, and other JED engagements across Washington State, as well as JED headquarters in NYC regularly (30% travel).
Benefits

Compensation: $72,000 - $104,000 / year.
