Role Description

The Career Services Advisor is responsible for effectively and strategically providing ongoing career development and employability coaching to active students and alumni through:

• Course presentations
• Workshops
• One-on-one coaching sessions
• Professional assessments

The Career Services Advisor works directly with the Director of Career Services, other Career Services staff members, and other campus departments, to continually assess student progress throughout the entirety of the program.

Additionally, the Career Services Advisor will:

• Schedule and conduct virtual mock interviews
• Contact unplaced graduates weekly
• Provide resume writing assistance
• Provide job search guidance to graduates
• Assist with events such as career fairs and Program Advisory Committee meetings
• Document in CampusVue/CampusNexus all active students, graduates, and employer communication
• Track all unplaced graduates including the graduate’s employment criteria needs

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Business, Human Resources, Communication or a related field from an accredited institution, or comparable related work experience
• 1 year work experience in recruiting, staffing, human resources, counseling or business
• Work experience in developing community connections
• Proficiency working with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
• Strong commitment to customer service and public presentation skills
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with internal and external customers and teammates

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Communications or a related field from an accredited institution (preferred)
• 1 year experience in career/employability training (preferred)
• 1 year experience in staffing or career placement (preferred)
• 1 year of call center experience (preferred)
• 1 year of interviewing experience (preferred)
