Role Description

Infotech® is seeking a Sr. Platform Engineer who is passionate about building solutions that improve the continuous delivery of the web applications and services that build our nation's roads and infrastructure. As a Sr. Platform Engineer, you will build and support the automated, self-service foundation that takes software from integration and testing through release, deployment, and ongoing operation.

• Partner with product engineering teams to design and deliver a scalable, highly available platform on AWS for our interdependent products and services.
• Build and maintain reusable, self-service tooling and standardized environments that make it easier and faster for developers to build, test, and ship.
• Automate CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure provisioning using scripting, Infrastructure as Code, and AWS services.
• Develop, deploy, and maintain consistent development, test, and production environments that use resources efficiently across all commercial products.
• Implement monitoring, alerting, and observability to see issues early, respond to alerts quickly, and keep service delivery seamless.
• Administer Linux-based systems and cloud networking, enforcing strong security across accounts, user permissions, and services.
• Keep systems healthy through backups, regular updates, and security patching, and monitor for vulnerabilities and intrusion.
• Identify risks in infrastructure designs and processes and communicate them to the right people, along with ideas for future improvement.
• Create clear technical documentation, and share new platform capabilities with product teams.
• Participate in after-hours maintenance and on-call troubleshooting when needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field and 3 years of relevant experience; or a master's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Prior experience in platform, DevOps, or infrastructure roles.
• Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills.
• Solid grasp of Infrastructure as Code concepts.
• Knowledge of database administration and networking.
• Experience with Agile software engineering.
• Service catalogs or developer portals such as Backstage, Port or Cortex, including modeling services, ownership and dependencies.
