Role Description
This role involves designing and building tools and platforms to deliver a best-in-class developer experience for multiple development teams. Responsibilities include:
- Drive development of existing DevOps platforms and contribute to the development of new DevOps platforms by analyzing and identifying areas for modification and improvement.
- Develop platforms that are fast, secure, and reliable to meet defined requirements.
- Monitor, identify, and correct complex platform defects to maintain fully functioning platforms, leveraging the support and skill of more junior teammates.
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, Ansible, Crossplane/YAML, and more.
- Design and develop effective automation of many manual processes using a variety of scripting languages including but not limited to Powershell, Go, Python, and Bash.
- Design and develop sophisticated Continuous Integration/Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using Github Actions, Flux/ArgoCD, Jenkins, etc.
- Research and suggest ways to optimize solutions to better meet user and/or business performance and quality needs.
- Write documentation and diagrams to explain system design and how our end users can use them.
- Mentor junior team members by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching.
- Maintain an understanding of relevant technology, external regulation, and industry best practices through ongoing education, attending conferences, and reading specialist media.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent level preferred
- Experience enables job holder to deal with the majority of situations and to advise others (Over 3 years to 6 years)
- Basic experience of coordinating the work of others (4 to 6 months)
