Role Description

Sovereign Cloud is T-Systems' cloud offering for clients with high sovereignty needs. Clients in regulated sectors such as healthcare and the public sector are put in complete charge of their data – on an open-source platform, hosted in Europe. Our focus is to build new product – Sovereign Cloud within T-systems international cloud portfolio. DevOps engineer participates in the design and implementation of Kubernetes based Platform as a Service offering to Sovereign Cloud.

As the DevOps Engineer for Sovereign Cloud, you will co-create next-generation cloud solutions, focusing on EU healthcare, security, and public sector areas. Responsibilities include:

• Design and implement a set of sovereignty controls and measures, including encryption and identity management.
• Control function over relevant parts of the Sovereign Cloud.
• Responsible for the entire lifecycle of Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment pipelines and platform as Code approaches.
• Define automated configuration management, release management, build, test, and deployment activities.
• Provide prototypes and concepts for further automation of assigned technology.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

• Contact person for stakeholders (Product Manager, Product Owner, Operations Team, Customer).
• Specific platform configurations, network, application, security.
• Support in application development and maintenance.
• Continuously optimize the software development, releasing, and deployment cycle to improve reliability, test efficiency, and build processes (Automation, scaling, CI/CD workflows, Git).
• Improve platform development and release lifecycle efficiencies by modernizing our processes & workflows.
• Application of agile development methods (processes and tools). Participation in Agile/Scrum events (Daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospective sessions, and customer sprint reviews).
• Support in platform operations, specific platform configurations, tracking of feature requests, operational requirements, application end-to-end performance tests, planning resources, and security improvements.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years experience in the area of responsibility.
• Solid knowledge of Kubernetes (or similar) container-based technologies.
• Knowledge of scripting languages (Python/Bash).
• Experience with automation tools and automation deployments (Ansible/Salt-stack/Terraform/Helm).
• Knowledge of CI/CD in a Kubernetes environment and repository management.
• Skilled in automation with Git (GitHub, GitLab) and CI/CD tools like GitHub Actions or GitLab CI/CD.
• Familiarity with Linux OS.
• Knowledge of monitoring and visualization tools (Grafana, Prometheus, Instana).
• English - B2 level.

Salary

Final salary is negotiable. We are offering a base salary depending on seniority level and previous experience of the candidate. In addition to base salary, we provide a variable part and other financial benefits. Base salary will not be lower than 1650 € /brutto.
