Role Description
The Systems Engineer will be the primary owner of all Systems Engineering responsibilities, including:
- Managing pipelines
- Certificates
- Application Insights
- Performance monitoring
They will identify and prioritize tasks, translate high-level goals into detailed technical work, and support in defining and organizing the work breakdown using their strong technical expertise. This role will participate in the production support on-call rotation.
DevOps Product Team maintains a live authentication product while delivering new project features. Function as two groups within one Scrum teamβone dedicated to live product support and the other to new development, both sharing the same Azure DevOps backlog and sprint cadence. Currently, the environment is a hybrid of Azure and SaaS, including a web app and function app, with plans to fully transition to a SaaS platform by year-end. Continue to use Application Insights in Azure and may build a new API to support the migration. Authentication is handled through Entra ID for internal users and Ping for external customers.
Qualifications
- Must be a hands-on Azure System Engineer
- Build pipelines, deploying to Azure resources and SaaS products
- Experience standing up and managing Azure landing zones
- Experience with setting/troubleshooting security mechanisms like mTLS
- Experience with ARM, Bicep, and Terraform required
- Experience in Azure DevOps (ADO) required
- Must have Application Insights experience
- Experience with certificate management, manual and implementing automation
- Experience with PowerShell
- Familiarity with IAM and user authentication (such as OAuth and SAML) is preferred
- Experience with ServiceNow preferred
- Strong troubleshooting skills required
- Proactive ownership of the system engineer space is necessary, including identifying and prioritizing work as a recommended roadmap
- Willing to work on On Call rotation
