Instacart’s Design Team is dedicated to making grocery shopping effortless for everyone by solving complex, large-scale problems across our four-sided marketplace—Consumers, Shoppers, Retailers, and Advertisers. We’re looking for a Staff Product Designer to join the Lifecycle & Growth team and lead experience design across Instacart’s subscription and growth ecosystem.

Own and articulate a compelling long-term design vision for Instacart’s growth journey.

Lead end-to-end design across subscription and monetization experiences.

Bring a journey-based, systems mindset to how growth moments scale across web, iOS, Android, and lifecycle surfaces.

Shape product narratives and define strategic frameworks that communicate the value of membership.

Identify growth opportunities across the funnel and translate complex needs into scalable experience strategies.

Champion emotionally resonant, trust-building design.

Raise the bar for cohesion and quality across the growth surface.

Contribute to the evolution of Instacart’s design systems with a growth lens.
Qualifications

10+ years of experience designing consumer-facing digital products across web and mobile.

Deep expertise in growth-focused design, including subscription journeys and monetization models.

Proven success leading 0→1 initiatives and evolving mature products.

Strong visual and interaction design skills.

Strategic systems thinker who designs for scale.

Experience aligning cross-functional teams around a shared growth narrative.

Comfort navigating ambiguity and creating structure from loosely defined problems.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Requirements

Experience in marketplace, e-commerce, or subscription businesses.

Hands-on experience collaborating with Product, Marketing, Brand, Engineering, and Data Science.

Background in brand-forward, narrative-led design.

Experience evolving large-scale design systems.

Demonstrated ability to influence outcomes across multi-team initiatives.
