Role Description

We are looking for a talented and experienced Senior Video Editor to join a creative business operating within the advertising industry. This is a fully remote opportunity for a professional based in South Africa who is comfortable working Australian business hours. The business operates in a collaborative and innovative environment where creative thinking, visual storytelling and high quality production are central to delivering successful advertising campaigns. The successful candidate will take ownership of the video editing and post production process, transforming creative concepts and raw footage into polished, engaging content. You will work closely with a creative team to produce compelling visual content across a variety of platforms, including social media, digital advertising and broadcast.

Key Responsibilities

• Video Editing and Post Production
  • Lead the post production process from initial rough cuts through to final delivery.
  • Edit video footage into polished, engaging content that aligns with creative briefs and campaign objectives.
  • Perform colour grading and audio mixing to ensure professional production quality.
  • Adapt video content into different formats and aspect ratios for social media, digital platforms and broadcast.
  • Maintain consistent quality across all video outputs.
  • Apply strong storytelling techniques to create visually compelling content.
  • Ensure final deliverables meet technical specifications and platform requirements.
• Creative Collaboration
  • Work closely with the creative team to understand campaign briefs and production objectives.
  • Translate creative concepts into effective visual narratives.
  • Contribute ideas during pre production planning and concept development.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to refine content and improve the overall quality of creative work.
  • Bring fresh ideas and innovative editing approaches to advertising projects.
• Project Management and Production Organisation
  • Manage multiple editing projects simultaneously.
  • Organise project files, raw footage and digital assets accurately.
  • Maintain structured workflows to support efficient post production.
  • Meet agreed deadlines without compromising creative or technical quality.
  • Stay informed about emerging content trends, video formats and platform requirements.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of professional video editing experience, ideally within an advertising agency or production environment.
• Strong proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe After Effects.
• Experience managing the complete post production process.
• Practical experience in colour grading and audio mixing.
• Solid understanding of lighting, audio capture and on location video production.
• Excellent storytelling instincts with a strong eye for composition, pacing and detail.
• Ability to work efficiently across multiple projects while maintaining consistently high standards.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with a remote creative team.
• Must be based in South Africa and available to work Australian business hours.
