[Hiring] Senior Product Designer @Wayfinder

Role Description

At Wayfinder, we believe every student deserves to develop belonging, purpose, and future-ready skills. Our web platform is where that happens every day for students, educators, and school communities, and we're looking for a Senior Product Designer to help shape what it becomes next.

• Own the design of a set of features, from the first conversation with an educator to the final handoff to engineering.
• Spend real time with the people who use our product, including teachers, school leaders, and Wayfinder staff.
• Turn insights from user interactions into experiences that feel simple, thoughtful, and genuinely useful.
• Collaborate to solve problems and explore the ways AI is changing design and development.
• Report to our Principal Product Designer and join a small team where your work has a direct, visible impact.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in UI and UX design, with a portfolio of case studies that shows your process as well as your results.
• A track record of leading design research, such as interviews, usability studies, and engagement with partners or customers.
• Excellent communication skills, comfortable leading conversations and presenting to stakeholders.
• Experience designing accessible products and a working knowledge of accessibility standards (such as WCAG).
• Comfort using AI tools as part of your design workflow.
• Proficiency with Figma and familiarity with Adobe tools.
• Experience collaborating with designers and engineers to create coherent, intuitive user experiences.
• Ability to manage your own priorities in a fast-moving environment and welcome feedback.
• An entrepreneurial mindset and a bias toward action.
• Fluency in written and spoken English.

Requirements

• Experience designing PreK-12 edtech products, especially in Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS), college and career readiness (CCR), or durable skill development.
• Experience designing AI-enabled features or workflows.
• Experience working in a startup or other fast-moving environment.
• An undergraduate degree or equivalent experience in product design, interaction design, human-computer interaction, software engineering, or a related field.
