Role Description
As a Senior Product Designer at Bonterra, you will play a critical role in shaping the user experience of one of our core products. You’ll lead design efforts from concept to execution, solving complex user challenges with thoughtful, scalable solutions. This role is highly collaborative, requiring close partnerships with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to align on vision, define strategy, and create intuitive, elegant experiences that drive real impact for our users.
- Lead the end-to-end design process for a key product area—from research and concept development to high-fidelity UI and handoff—ensuring a seamless and cohesive user experience.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional partners to inform product strategy and deliver user-centered design solutions that meet business and technical goals.
- Translate complex problems and workflows into clear, accessible, and visually compelling designs using tools like Figma.
- Conduct user research and usability testing to uncover insights and validate design decisions, iterating on solutions based on feedback and data.
- Drive and evolve the product’s visual and interaction design in alignment with Bonterra’s design system and brand standards.
- Break down large, ambiguous problems into actionable design tasks, delivering work that balances near-term needs with long-term vision.
- Facilitate design workshops and collaborative sessions to foster shared understanding and generate innovative ideas.
- Ensure accessibility and inclusivity in all design work, adhering to industry standards to serve users of all abilities.
- Contribute to the design team’s culture by mentoring junior designers and helping build a collaborative, feedback-rich environment.
- Stay current on UX and industry trends, bringing fresh ideas and continuous improvement to your design practice.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of proven experience leading the design of complex digital products in a SaaS environment.
- A strong portfolio showcasing UX and UI work across responsive web or native applications, with clear articulation of your design thinking and process.
- Experience taking a product from 0 to 1, navigating ambiguity and shaping early-stage concepts into functional, validated solutions.
- Advanced proficiency with modern design and prototyping tools, especially Figma.
- Strong collaboration skills and experience partnering with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to shape and deliver product strategy.
- Deep knowledge of user-centered design methodologies, including user research, journey mapping, and usability testing.
- Experience designing within or contributing to a scalable design system.
- Understanding of front-end development principles (HTML/CSS/JS) and the ability to effectively communicate with engineering teams.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly explain design decisions to a wide range of audiences.
- A strong commitment to accessibility and inclusive design practices.
- Experience in healthcare, biotech, or life sciences is preferred but not required.
Requirements
- Compensation range: $85,000 - $115,000 for US Base Salary.
- Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
- Base pay is one part of the Total Package that may include discretionary bonuses/incentives and equity.
