Role Description

This role involves shaping Monzo’s future through design, focusing on customer support experiences and operational workflows.

• Embedding the long-term design vision for support experiences at Monzo.
• Leading large, end-to-end design initiatives across ambiguous problem spaces.
• Designing with a service mindset, understanding real-world impacts of design decisions.
• Designing across touchpoints; from the app, to the phone, to human support.
• Navigating tradeoffs and guiding strategic decisions.
• Coaching other Ops Collective designers.
• Raising the bar for design craft and product excellence.
• Partnering with cross-functional leaders to define and execute product strategies.
• Proactively addressing systemic challenges and reducing complexity.
• Acting as a visible ambassador for Design across the company.
• Mentoring and fostering a culture of growth, collaboration, and belonging.

Qualifications

• Expertise in a specific design discipline with strong foundational skills across all areas of product design.
• Comfortable designing for AI and automation-enabled environments.
• Experience working on complex service ecosystems.
• Passionate about improving human-technology interactions.
• Proven track record of delivering high-impact design work.
• Excellent visual, UI, and interaction skills.
• Ability to thrive in ambiguity and lead teams in complex environments.
• Strategic thinker who can shape product direction.
• Natural collaborator skilled at working cross-functionally.
• Passionate about growing and shaping the Design team.
• Pragmatic and proactive in improving Design’s impact.

Requirements

• Experience in designing customer support experiences.
