Role Description
Wolcen is looking for a passionate Senior Gameplay Animator interested in working within a multicultural team and with Unreal Engine 5 as we continue developing our next projects (Wolcen 2 and Gods, Death, and Reapers). This is a remote position. Please be mindful that we take into consideration only candidates based within the European Economical area.

Create diverse and compelling character animations to enhance gameplay experience.

Develop animations from scratch or manipulate mocap data for in-game animation.

Collaborate closely with the Animation Director, animators, game designers, and programmers to understand quality objectives and gameplay intentions.

Identify and report animation-related issues.

Own animation features from concept to final implementation, including prototyping, iteration, integration, debugging, and polish.

Estimate task time and manage deadlines effectively.

Actively contribute to promoting a transparent and learning culture within the team.

Anticipate production and technical risks and communicate them early to the relevant stakeholders.
Qualifications

5+ years of experience as an Animator in the video game industry.

Proficiency in Maya and Unreal Engine 5.

Strong teamwork and collaboration abilities.

Deep understanding of body mechanics and aesthetics.

Adaptability, flexibility, and openness to change.

Ability to give and receive constructive criticism.

Innovative problem-solving skills.

Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
Requirements

Experience implementing gameplay animation directly in Unreal Engine 5 (nice to have).

Experience with Unreal Engine 5 animation layering systems and reusable animation logic (nice to have).

Strong understanding of combat animation, responsiveness, readability, timing, and gameplay feel (nice to have).

Experience working with mocap data, including clean-up, editing, and adaptation for gameplay (nice to have).

Professional experience developing action games, ARPGs, or combat-heavy titles (nice to have).

Experience working autonomously, identifying problems, and proposing solutions without requiring detailed direction (nice to have).

Experience collaborating directly with Game Design and Programming to solve animation and gameplay problems (nice to have).

A proactive mindset, with the confidence to experiment, take initiative, learn from mistakes, and iterate quickly based on feedback (nice to have).
