Role Description

Ruggable is on a mission to reinvent the way people think about their homes, starting from the ground up. We believe design should be beautiful, functional, and washable. As we continue to expand our product assortment and innovate within the home category, we are looking for a detail-driven and technically skilled Pre-Production Print/Textile Designer to join our Textile Design team.

As our Pre-Production Print/Textile Designer, you will play a critical role in translating creative concepts into production-ready artwork for textile manufacturing. This position focuses on print and textile design with a strong emphasis on size scaling across multiple product dimensions. You will bring deep expertise in print file setup, color accuracy, repeats, and textile production processes, ensuring that every design is executed with precision and consistency.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-paced, design-driven company where your technical skill and problem-solving abilities will directly impact the quality and scalability of our products. You will collaborate closely with textile design, product development, and production partners to ensure designs are optimized for print, accurately scaled, meet quality standards, and are delivered efficiently.

What You’ll Do

  • Prepare and finalize textile print files for production, including repeats, color setup, and technical specifications
  • Scale designs accurately across multiple sizes while maintaining design integrity and proportion
  • Ensure accuracy of layered files, including overlays, textures, and distressing elements
  • Support color consistency across various production formats to ensure alignment from digital to physical output
  • Review and adjust artwork based on samples and production feedback
  • Manage and organize files with strong version control, naming conventions, and calendar adherence
  • Prioritize multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high standards and meeting deadlines
  • Identify workflow efficiencies and contribute to process improvements

Qualifications

  • 5 to 7 years of textile design or pre-production experience, with a strong portfolio of professional achievements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Textile Design or a related field
  • Expert level proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and strong expertise across Adobe Creative Suite
  • Strong experience working with layered files, including overlays, textures, and distressing techniques
  • Exceptional organizational skills with a detail-oriented mindset, strong ownership, and consistent calendar adherence
  • Proven ability to prioritize, multi-task, and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines without compromising quality
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills across cross-functional teams
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, demanding environment
  • Demonstrated intellectual curiosity and sound judgment in ambiguous situations
  • Solutions-oriented mindset with the ability to navigate challenges and obstacles effectively
  • Agile, goal-oriented, and driven with a proactive approach to problem-solving

Preferred

  • Strong interest in home and interior design textiles, specifically rug and carpet design
  • Experience with other textile-specific design software such as NedGraphics/Texcelle, or Pointcarré a plus
  • Familiarity with production workflows for home goods or soft goods in an e-commerce environment

How to Apply

Please submit your resume, portfolio including examples of production-ready textile designs and size-scaled work, and a brief note about why you would be a great fit for this role.
