[Hiring] Picture Editor @Future Publishing

Role Description

We're looking for a Picture Editor to join the Horse & Hound team for a six-month fixed maternity cover to oversee the management and organisation of all the magazine's photographic content.

What you'll be doing:

• Manage the full photographic events calendar – booking shoots in advance for major reports, coordinating last-minute interviews, cover shots and events.
• Manage the accounts and payments.
• Be the primary point of contact for our extensive network of photographers and event centres across the country.
• Work within a small creative team to bring the magazine’s pages to life, offering feedback and constructive ideas to keep the magazine aesthetic looking fresh and appealing.

Qualifications

• In-depth understanding of the horse world, knowing your dressage from your showjumping.
• A creative eye for selecting accurate and impactful imagery.
• Capable of juggling a complex calendar and keeping your cool when pages change at the eleventh hour.
• Strong and professional communication skills for negotiating fees and liaising with event centre managers.
• Proficient user of the Google Suite, and competent at learning new systems and processes quickly.

• Experience in managing photographic content and events.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a creative team.

• The expected range for this role is £29,000 - £36,000.
