Role Description
Tomorrow University's marketing team works across three growth levers: create demand, acquire demand, and convert demand. We're a small team, and this role sits at the heart of create demand.
Your job is to make videos that help more of the right people discover Tomorrow University, get interested in what we're building, and see why one of our degrees could be right for them.
Video will be your main medium, with YouTube as a priority. You'll create everything from compelling long-form videos and recurring YouTube formats to Shorts, Reels, social-first content, student stories, and creative for campaigns.
-
Take videos from idea to finished product.
-
Find stories and angles worth telling, and turn briefs or your own ideas into clear video concepts, hooks, outlines, and scripts.
-
Plan and produce shoots: prepare questions and shot lists, coordinate with the people involved, set up equipment, film interviews and supporting footage, and direct people comfortably on camera.
-
Edit videos yourself, including pacing, sound, captions, graphics, and the finishing touches that make a piece feel complete.
-
Make the most of a shoot by turning footage into multiple useful assets for different formats and channels.
-
Travel when needed to film students, faculty, team members, events, and other stories that are best captured in person.
Help grow our reach on YouTube and social:
-
Create content for YouTube, including longer videos, Shorts, and repeatable series that people want to return to.
-
Think beyond the video itself: strong openings, titles, thumbnails, pacing, and audience retention are part of the creative work.
-
Adapt ideas for Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, and paid social when relevant, without treating every platform as the same.
-
Stay close to what people are watching, sharing, and talking about, and bring fresh ideas that fit Tomorrow University's audience and voice.
-
Work with our part-time Social Media Coordinator, who handles scheduling, publishing, engagement, and day-to-day channel management.
Make video production smarter and easier to scale:
-
Build simple, repeatable production workflows, templates, and formats so we can publish consistently.
-
Use AI tools for tasks such as research, ideation, transcription, rough cuts, captioning, repurposing, localisation, and creative variations when they add real value.
-
Experiment with new AI image and video capabilities while keeping good storytelling, trust, and authenticity at the centre.
-
Collaborate with freelancers, UGC creators, and our designer when a project needs extra capacity or specialist craft.
-
Support programme launches, campaigns, and other marketing work with video assets when needed.
Learn what works and make the next video better:
-
Look at the performance of your work, including views, reach, click-through, watch time, retention, and useful audience response.
-
Work with the marketing team to test topics, hooks, formats, thumbnails, and creative angles.
-
Use what you learn to improve the next video, build on winning formats, and stop spending time on ideas that aren't landing.
-
Care about whether content reaches the right people and helps them move closer to considering Tomorrow University, not just whether it gets views.
Qualifications
-
Around 2-4 years of relevant experience in video production, content creation, social media, or a similar hands-on creative role.
-
A strong portfolio of work matters more than a particular job title or career path.
-
You can take a video from concept to final edit yourself.
-
You know how to film and edit confidently, whether you're working with a camera, a phone, or a lightweight production setup.
-
You're comfortable with editing software such as Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, or CapCut.
-
You understand how YouTube and social video work: what makes someone click, keep watching, and share something.
-
You can find a good story, write a strong hook or script, and shape raw footage into engaging content.
-
You're more than an executor; you notice opportunities, pitch ideas, and find creative ways to bring them to life.
-
You're curious about AI-powered production and already experimenting with tools that can help you create and scale video content.
-
You're organised enough to manage shoots, files, deadlines, feedback, and several pieces of content at once.
-
You're willing and able to travel regularly when needed for shoots, events, and stories.
-
You like learning through making, publishing, looking at the response, and trying again.
-
You believe education can change lives.
