[Hiring] Interactive Web Designer @Jonas Software

Role Description

Jonas Club Software builds the technology that private clubs across North America run on. Our MembersFirst team designs and builds the member-facing websites and portals those clubs use every day. We take our projects and our clients seriously, but not ourselves.

As an Interactive Web Designer, you'll own the look and feel of a website from the first client kick-off all the way to launch. You'll:

• Lead client design meetings, running discovery and review sessions with club stakeholders.
• Design in Figma, creating responsive desktop, tablet and mobile mockups and interactive prototypes for websites and CMS modules.
• Code your designs in HTML, CSS and JavaScript in a local development environment.
• Tokenize finished code into reusable templates and tokens that work inside the MembersFirst CMS.
• Advise clients and teammates on design, usability, and accessibility.
• Manage multiple projects, tracking progress and keeping internal stakeholders updated.
• Improve workflows, finding ways to speed up the path from mockup to launch.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional web design and front-end development experience.
• A portfolio showing responsive websites you designed and built.
• Advanced Figma skills: components, auto layout, variants and prototyping.
• Strong HTML, CSS and JavaScript skills, with an understanding of browser behavior.
• A strong eye for layout, colour, typography and visual hierarchy.
• Working knowledge of usability, UX and accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1 AA).
• Confidence leading client meetings and explaining design decisions in plain language.
• Excellent time management skills, meeting deadlines across several projects.
• Clear, concise written communication.

Requirements

• You raise your hand and volunteer for new challenges.
• You welcome feedback and use it to improve your work.
• You collaborate well with designers, developers, and project managers.
• You look for smarter workflows and reusable patterns.
• You are curious about AI tools to enhance design and coding.
• You hold yourself accountable for quality from sketch to launch.

Benefits

• Salary: CAD 75K–85K per year, based on experience.
• Full-time hours with core hours from 9:00 am–6:00 pm Eastern Time for client meetings and team collaboration.
• Fully remote position; must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
