[Hiring] Interactive/Motion Graphics Designer @White Bay

Role Description

They are looking for an Interactive Media and Motion Graphics Designer, to transform complex data and ideas into compelling interactive experiences and animated visual stories.

• Develop interactive graphics, motion graphics, and digital experiences that bring data-driven stories to life.
• Collaborate with designers, writers, strategists, and campaign managers to deliver creative campaigns.
• Present concepts and advise clients on visual storytelling and design best practices.
• Explore emerging technologies and AI tools to develop ideas and improve creative workflows.
• Manage multiple projects from concept to completion while meeting deadlines and incorporating feedback.
• Share expertise, provide constructive feedback, and mentor developing designers.
• Contribute ideas and insights during creative reviews, project meetings, and team discussions.

Qualifications

• Three to five years of professional graphic design experience, including interactive media and data visualization. Agency or digital media experience is an asset.
• A strong portfolio demonstrating visual storytelling, conceptual thinking, attention to detail, and the ability to simplify complex information. Motion design experience is an advantage.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, particularly Illustrator and Photoshop, alongside experience with AI tools.
• Familiarity with Python, JavaScript, visualization libraries such as D3.js, or no-code platforms such as Ceros.
• Experience with tools such as Tableau, Flourish, or RAWGraphs.
• Knowledge of web accessibility standards and their application to digital content.
• Confidence presenting creative concepts, explaining design decisions, and providing client recommendations.
• Strong teamwork and organizational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
• Experience with QGIS, relevant professional credentials, and mentoring junior creatives are additional assets.

Requirements

• $65,000–$85,000 annually, depending on experience, qualifications, and role requirements.
• Location: Vancouver, BC preferred, with exceptional candidates elsewhere in Canada considered.
