[Hiring] Graphic Designer @AvantStay

Role Description

We’re hiring a part-time, freelance Graphic Designer to bring AvantStay’s brand to life everywhere a guest meets us, from a paid social ad to the banner at a hotel opening. You’ll design the daily marketing creative that keeps our channels moving. You’ll also create the physical and launch materials that make a new property feel like AvantStay from the moment someone arrives: signage, print, swag, event graphics, and landing pages. You’ll use AI tools to explore more concepts and turn around production faster than a traditional in-house studio.

This is a hands-on freelance role, about 10-20 hours a week, for a designer who can go from a quick Instagram story to a full brand identity for a new hotel, and who does well in a fast-moving, remote-first environment.

What you'll do

• Design marketing collateral for organic and paid social, digital ads, and email, from first concept through final assets sized for every placement.
• Design landing pages and pop-ups with marketing and web teammates, and make them convert as well as they look.
• Create brand identities for new hotels and properties, including logos, color and type systems, and launch toolkits, each one distinct but clearly part of the AvantStay family.
• Design wayfinding and property signage, in-room print, menus, and other on-property materials, and prepare production-ready files for vendors.
• Develop branded merchandise and swag, from guest welcome kits to partner gifts, and manage proofs with suppliers.
• Produce event banners, step-and-repeats, and print pieces for openings, activations, and partner events.
• Use AI tools to speed up ideation, mood boards, image generation and editing, and asset versioning.
• Build and maintain on-brand Canva templates, along with brand guidelines and the asset library, so teammates and partners can create on-brand work on their own.
• Work with content, performance, and PR teammates on campaign launches tied to seasonal travel moments, new destinations, and hotel openings.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of graphic design experience, ideally in hospitality, travel, lifestyle, or a premium consumer brand (in-house or agency).
• A portfolio with range: digital marketing creative alongside print, environmental, or packaging work. Hotel or property branding is a big plus.
• Must be fluent in Canva.
• Expert-level Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and Figma.
• Print production know-how: bleeds, dielines, color profiles, large-format specs, and working directly with printers and fabricators.
• Daily, hands-on use of AI design tools plus the judgment to tell when AI output is brand-ready and when it isn’t.
• A strong eye for typography and a feel for premium, design-forward hospitality brands.
• The ability to manage many projects at once, take feedback well, and hit tight launch deadlines.

Requirements

• Part-time freelance contract, 10-20 hours per week.
• $15-20 USD per hour, depending on location & experience.
• This role is only open to global candidates outside the United States.
• Must be available for some overlap with US business hours (Pacific, Central, or Eastern time).
• Must have excellent written and spoken English (near-native).
