Role Description

This is a remote position.

Founding Product Designer / Design Engineer

New York City (Remote, must reside in NYC)

$170K – $200K base + Equity

High-growth AI software startup is hiring its first designer to help shape both the product and the brand from the ground up. This is a rare opportunity to join as an early member of the founding team and have real influence on how the product is built.

• You’ll work directly with engineering and leadership to design complex product workflows.
• Create intuitive user experiences.
• Establish the design systems and visual foundation for a highly interactive software platform.

Qualifications

• Product design experience building complex software or SaaS applications.
• Expert-level Figma skills with experience building or contributing to design systems.
• Portfolio demonstrating strong interaction design, product thinking, and user flow architecture.
• Strong visual design sensibility and ability to create cohesive product and brand systems.
• Experience collaborating closely with engineering teams in fast-paced product environments.
• Degree from a well-regarded university or design program, particularly in fields such as Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, Product Design, or related disciplines.

Requirements

• Lead product design across the platform including user flows, interfaces, and interaction patterns.
• Partner closely with engineering and leadership to translate complex technical capabilities into intuitive product experiences.
• Design and prototype new features while helping establish a scalable design system.
• Own brand design across marketing website, documentation, and visual assets.
